Aims and Objective

We provide a range of activities to develop and stimulate service users. We aim to work with each service user and their families/carers. As well as all other relevant professionals to find a way forward.
We look to analyse the causes or communicative functions of challenging behaviours to enable constructive work. A key part of what we do is to enable service users to participate in society and their local community.
These skills are developed by the staff team in encouraging service users to take an active role in making choices at an age/ability appropriate level. This will always involve consultation with service users based on aspects of their care. We respect individuality and actively promote Equality and Anti-Discriminatory behaviour. We respect Cultural and Religious Beliefs. Having this holistic approach allows us to encourage development.
Psychological growth and recovery is facilitated through the applied understanding of trauma and attachment needs. This is achieved by a Positive Behaviour Management Plan. That focuses on engagement and achievement through active participation in their care packages and a wide range of activities.
When a service user has worked hard throughout their lives and has been committed to helping others, they deserve extra cherishing. They need a home where individuality is emphasised, with staff members that have time to give attention to small details. Where they have the choice of enjoying the company of like-minded fellow service users.
This service recognises those needs fully and wishes to emphasise the following points:
  • Privacy:- The right of a resident to be left alone and undisturbed whenever s/he wishes.
  • Dignity & Respect:- The understanding of a service users needs and treating them with respect.
  • Independence:- Allowing a service user to take calculated risks, to make his/her own decisions and think and act for him/herself.
  • Choice:- Giving a service user the opportunity to select for him/herself from a range of alternative options which may be appropriate to him/her.
  • Rights:- Keeping all basic human rights available to all service users.
  • Fulfilment:- Enabling the service user to realise his/her own aims and helping him/her to achieve these goals in all aspects of daily living.
